I'm in desperate need of help.
Burned the maps on a DVD+R DL with ImgBurn (chose DVD-ROM from settings) on Vista.
After burn, DVDinfo says that the booktype is DVD-ROM.
RNS-E only updates firmware. Then says "insert navigation DVD".
What should I try next?

There are at least two things that you have to bare in mind burning this DVD.

1. The one who made the DVD at the very first has to be sure that he/she included the copy protection.

2. When you burn yourself....you have to use a burning app that can reproduce the copy protection. Like DVD Clone or something.

....but...you can never be sure that the user who put this up get the copyprotection on the DVD, can you?

Could somebody help to me?I wrote the Dvd2 with Clone cd on 4X speed to an verbatim DVD+4,7gb.it started to install the new software sw650,and after the navi did't recognize the DVD...
The biggest Problem was that my friend had an original DVD from 2006.After that the navi system didn't recognize this DVD too,because the DVD is not compatible with the nav system,pelase go to the Audi trader....

Waht should I do?Please,help somebody...Sholud I write the DVD with Nero?

torpem, thats really wierd becuase the 2006 DVD should work whit the SW600, i think. But you can always downgrade the navi software by connecting VAG-COM and go to the
Navigation&Radio then go to adaption channel 97 and change it from 0 to 1. You just put your old NaviDVD in the rns-e and it will downgrade if the orginal DVDs dont work. I am seeding to night and only to night becuase I dont have any internet on my own, are connected to a wireless connection that I found.

and yess of course I included the copy protection why should I put it on tpb whitout that??

Hi torpem again I just read that you uppgraded to sw650 and that one does only work whit this two DVDs that I share and of course 2009DVDs to.

VAG-COM is both a equipment and a program. Google ross-tech vag com and you see what it is, its the cabel that connects the car to computer you could read fault codes and change setting in the car.

No its the orginal vol. name but in what OS did you burn the DVDs? I know that if you burn it in Vista the RNS-E wont read the DVD. Try burning it in XP and whit Pioneer 111D on a Verbatim DVD+R DL. Use Clone CD as burning program not Nero. Write back if that dont work I will see check what you should do whit some friends.

Ok folks, this is a working image. you must burn it on a DVD+DL disc, a regular DVD-R does not work. (Then it says Insert Navigation disc). Burning with Toast on mac works great.

Does it work to write on Verbatim single layer DVD+R and Clone CD or it is a must to write on Dual Layer even it is only 3 gb? What program did you use for copyprotection? :)

From what i found, this MUST be written on a DVD+R DUAL LAYER media disc. Also you MUST set the booktype (e.g in Nero) to DVD-ROM.

Please note that not all DVD writer units support this mode, that is why ek0717 recommends using the Pioneer 111D.

Correction: this ONLY works when written on a Pioneer DVD-writer, on a dual layer media. Tested on a Pioneer 116DBK successfully.

I've never used DL before, will this Navi work recorded on Asus DRW - 1608p35? I've heard it has some pioneer components. I got different language in Nero, what does it mean to set booktype??

ok here's how it looks from my point of view. I downloaded this image and burned it at Verbatim DL, you simply have to use dual layer disc as the image have data for both 'layers' and burning it on regular DVD wont take results. I do not have Pioneer, I used ASUS recorder with Nero 6 software (6 as I remember). I didn't set any booktypes, recorder recognized DL DVD+RW. I
After updating on my Navi+ (dont remember previous version) to 0600 system says that this Navigation Disc is not compatible with the software.
Silly to me as update was made from the same disc as navi so when both are on the same disc should be compatible with each other. Anyway, I have downloaded Software Update (06500) and burned it (same recorder) on regular Sony CD, closing session of course. It has successfully upgrated Audi Navi+ system. After that I placed DVD with maps (mentioned DVD2 for RNS-E) and he STILL says it is not compatible.
I have original one copy of Version 2006_1 for western europe and I wanted to have eastern too.
I don't know the reason why downloaded maps don't work. I have no idea if I had any mistakes during burning. Some informations other users give are so not clear so I have described my case in details.
Anyone have any suggestions, tips? What might went wrong? Now I will try to download exact version of Navi Disc I have (2006_1) but the second disc (eastern europe) and find out if it will work. By the way I own Audi a3, prod. year 2005 with originally fitted Navi+.

Get your self a Pioneer 111D burner and it will work just fine, I have tested on 5-6 other burners (Sony AD-7200A, Samsung SH-S223F, Samsung SH-S223Q, LG, Plextor Dual-Bay)

No burner work but pioneer, it burns the uppdate right but rns-e could not read maps from those other burners.
